Catch-Newz a réussi à avoir en interview exclusive, le catcheur professionnel Konnan ! Konnan qui a débuté sa carrière remarquée en 1992 à la AAA. Il est ensuite passé à la World Wrestling Federation (WWF), avant de finallement rejoindre la World Championship Wrestling (WCW) suite à un mauvais contrat fait par Vince McMahon. Une fois à la WCW, il a été connu pour ses combats avec, et contre la nWo. En 2005, il vint créer le Latin American Xchange à la TNA. Suite à une blessure en 2007, il décida de quitter la compagnie floridienne vu que celle-ci ne voulait pas payer pour son opération. Aujourd’hui, il est un lutteur indépendant mais que l'on retrouve en priorité à la AAA !

Nico3H : Tout d'abord, merci Konnan de nous accorder cette interview pour Catch-Newz.com, pour les fans qui ne vous connaissent pas encore, pourriez-vous vous présenter ? 

Konnan : Mon nom est Carlos, mes parents sont d'origines Cubaines et Puerto Ricaines. J’ai grandi à Miami, en Floride et à San Diego, en Californie. J’étais dans une équipe de boxe pendant 4 ans, et j'ai catché pendant 20 ans.  

Nico3H : Quel a été votre premier contact visuel avec le Catch ? 

Konnan : Quand j’avais environ 6 ans, mon père et mon oncle le regardait à la TV.  

Nico3H : Comment êtes vous entrer dans le monde du catch et qu’est-ce qui vous a motivé à faire ce sport ? 

Konnan : Un ami m’a invité à Tijuana, au Mexique pour regarder de la Lucha Libre et j’avais aimé! Puis j’ai commencé à m’entraîner.  

Nico3H : Quel à été pour vous le lutteur avec qui vous avez aimé le plus travailler et pourquoi ? Quant au futur, avec qui voudriez-vous lutter ? 

Konnan : Eddie Guerrero, Love Machine, Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, Ron Killings (R-Truth), il y a en a trop à nommer. Ils ont tous été et sont des lutteurs formidables, des vrais professionnels. Dans le futur, je ne vois pas vraiment quelqu’un.  

Nico3H : Avez-vous trouvé que votre passage à la WWE en 1992 fut une expérience enrichissante pour votre carrière ? 

Konnan : J’ai beaucoup appris sur le business, sur des choses dont je ne savais rien avant.  

Nico3H : Avez vous trouvé que votre expérience à la WCW était intéressante ? Devenir membre de la NWO, était-ce un privilège ? 

Konnan : J’ai appris beaucoup sur le business là-bas aussi. Beaucoup de choses sur la politique en backstage, et c’était une partie de ma carrière où j’étais le plus chaud (plus populaire), plus que je ne l’ai jamais été.  

Nico3H : Lors de votre passage à la TNA, avez-vous aimé travailler avec la LAX ? Avez-vous gardé contact avec la compagnie ou avec des lutteurs ? 

Konnan : J’aimais la LAX, qui était mon idée. Je ne suis pas en bons termes avec la compagnie, mais j’ai gardé le contact avec certains lutteurs.  

Nico3H : Comment avez-vous trouvé votre retour à la AAA?

Konnan : C’était incroyable, les gens ne m’avaient pas oublié, même si j’avais quitté la fed pendant 7 ans.  

Nico3H : Avec qui voudriez-vous former une équipe à la AAA ? 

Konnan : Il n’y a pas personne en particulier avec qui je voudrais faire équipe.  

Nico3H : Êtes vous honoré que Bret Hart ait inscrit dans son livre que c'est grâce à vous qu'il a apprit le Sharpshooter ? 

Konnan : Oui. 

Nico3H : Désolé de taper dans un sujet sensible, mais quelle est votre version des faits à propos de ce malheureux incident qui s'est passé avec Juventud Guerrera et Jack Evans ? Regrettez-vous ce geste aujourd'hui ? 

Konnan : Juventud n’est pas du tout professionnel, il aime battre les lutteurs les plus jeunes qui n’ont aucune expérience. C'est un salaud et il a eu ce qui méritait, j’ai grandi dans les rues de Miami, et c’est comme ça que tu peux enseigner une leçon à quelqu’un. Je l’emmerde (Fuck him). Et non, je ne regrette pas du tout ce que j'ai fait. Il a commencé le combat, s’est fait botté les fesses, et a commencé à pleurer comme une petite *****. 

Nico3H : Après 20 ans de carrière, regrettez-vous certaines choses ? 

Konnan : Je n’aurais pas du être si rebelle.  

Nico3H : Qu'avez-vous à dire pour ceux qui deviennent ou qui voudraient devenir catcheurs professionnels ?  

Konnan : Vous allez beaucoup souffrir, vous allez beaucoup sacrifier, et on vous mentira souvent. Si vous êtes capable de résister à cela, vous êtes à mi-chemin.  

Nico3H : Est-ce que vous pouvez nous parler de vos plans futurs pour votre carrière ?

Konnan : Je ne sais pas, peut-être produire ou écrire pour une compagnie de catch.  

Nico3H : Pour finir, avez-vous quelque chose à dire à vos fans et futurs fans en France ou dans les autres pays, qui liront ceci ? 

Konnan : J’espère un jour pouvoir vous rencontrez les mecs, j’ai vraiment envie de lutter en France. Je devais y aller, il y a environ 3 ou 4 ans, mais j’ai eu une urgence médicale et je ne pouvais pas y aller. Joe E. Legend avait réservé pour moi, et je crois qu’il pense que je l’ai laissé tomber, ou il croit que mes problèmes de rein sont faux, mais bon il est encore temps d’aller rencontrer des fans de catch français. Je suis un grand fan de l’histoire et de la culture de la France.

Catch-Newz has succeeded in having an exclusive interview with professional wrestler Konnan! Konnan who began his distinguished career in 1992 at the AAA. He then turned to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and then goes to World Championship Wrestling (WCW) after a bad contract made by Vince McMahon. In WCW he was known for his battles with the nWo. In 2005, it was the beginning of the Latin American Xchange to TNA. Following an injury in 2007, he decided to leave TNA seen that the federation would not pay for its operation. Today, it is an independent wrestler kind most often at AAA! And now, he gives us an interview on CN!  

Nico3H : Firstly, for fans who do not know you yet, could you introduce yourself? 

Konnan : Yeah my name is carlos, i am from cuban and puerto rican parents.  Grew up in miami, florida and San Diego, California.  Was in the navy boxing team for 4 years.  Have been wrestling for 20. 

Nico3H : What was your first visual contact with the wrestling? 

Konnan : When i was about 6, my dad and uncle would watch it on tv. 

Nico3H : How did you enter the world of wrestling and what motivate you to do this sport? 

Konnan : A friend invited me to Tijuana, Mexico to watch Lucha Libre and i loved it and started training. 

Nico3H : Which wrestler you preferred to work with and why? And in the future, you want to fight with? 

Konnan : Eddie Guerrero, love machine, rey mysterio, chris jericho, ron killings, to many to mention.  They were and are great wrestlers, very professional.  In the future no one really. 

Nico3H : Have you found that the experience was rewarding for your career when you pass to the WWF in 1992? 

Konnan : I learned a lot about the business, which i knew nothing about before. 

Nico3H : Have you found your experience to the WCW was interesting? And become a member of the NWO, is it a privilege? 

Konnan :  I learned a lot about the business there also.  A lot about politics of the business and was part of wrestling when it was the hottest it has ever been.  It was a privilege, it gave me a chance to get on the mike and show what i could do on the mike. 

Nico3H : During your stay to TNA, have you enjoyed working with the LAX team? Have you kept good contact with the company or wrestlers? 

Konnan : I loved LAX, that was my idea.  I am not on good terms with the company but i keep in touch with some of the wrestlers. 

Nico3H : How did you find your comeback to AAA?  

Konnan : It was incredible, the people didn’t forget me even though i had left for 7 years.  

Nico3H : Do you want to team up with someone to the AAA? 

Konnan : No one i really want to team up with. 

Nico3H : Are you honored that Bret Hart has written in his book that it’s with your help he learned the Sharpshooter? 

Konnan : Yes. 

Nico3H : Sorry to touch a sensitive subject, but what is your version about this unfortunate incident has happened with Juventud Guerrera and Jack Evans? You regret today? 

Konnan : Juventud is very unprofessional and likes to beat up younger wrestlers who have no experience among other things. He’s a bitch and he got what he deserved.  I grew up in the streets of Miami and that’s how u teach someone a lesson.  Fuck him.  No i dont regret shit.  He started the fight got his ass kicked and cried like a little bitch. 

Nico3H : After 20 years of career, do you regret anything? 

Konnan :  I should not have been so rebellious. 

Nico3H : What do you say for those who become or would like to become professional wrestlers? 

Konnan : U will suffer a lot and sacrifice a lot and be lied to a lot, if u can deal with that u are halfway there. 

Nico3H : Can you tell us about your future plans for your career? 

Konnan : I dont know maybe produce or write for wrestling promotion. 

Nico3H : Last question, do you have something to say to your fans and future fans in France or in other countries, who will read this interview?  

Konnan : Hope i can meet u guys one day  I really want to wrestle in France.  I was supposed to go there about 3 or 4 yrs ago but had a medical emergency and i couldnt go.  Joe Legend had booked me and i think he thinks i let him down or it wasnt true but i had problems with my kidney and i couldnt make it, but hey there is still time to go and meet the french wrestling fans, i am a big fan of frances history and culture.
